Spinal Flow Technique
Release stress. Awaken vitality. Restore your body’s natural ability to heal.
Spinal Flow is a gentle, powerful technique that taps into your body’s innate intelligence—your natural ability to heal, repair, and regulate itself. Developed by chiropractor Dr. Carli Axford, the Spinal Flow Technique works directly with the spine and nervous system, the key pathway through which your Life Force Energy flows.
When we experience stress—physical, chemical, or emotional—our bodies can store it as blockages in the spine. These blockages can interfere with nervous system function, disrupt the flow of energy, and over time, manifest as pain, illness, and emotional imbalance. Spinal Flow helps you release what’s stuck, reconnect with your body, and return to your natural rhythm of wellbeing.
What happens in a Spinal Flow session?
Spinal Flow sessions involve light touch to specific access points along the spine and cranium. These points communicate directly with the nervous system to activate a spinal healing response. You remain fully clothed while lying comfortably on a massage table, with support bolsters under your hips.
The process is subtle, calming, and deeply intuitive. Many clients describe it as a mix of energetic healing and nervous system reset—without force, pressure, or cracking.
What does the initial assessment involve?
Your first visit begins with a conversation about your health and goals, followed by a thorough assessment:
Posture Analysis – Your practitioner will observe your natural posture and body mechanics.
Movement Evaluation – Simple movements will help identify patterns of tension and restriction.
Spinal Palpation – Each vertebra is gently assessed to locate stress-holding patterns and energetic blockages.
Your practitioner will explore where your body is holding physical, chemical, or emotional stress—and begin to map a path forward.
What should I wear?
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing to allow full access to spinal points—avoid tight leggings, shapewear, or jeans with thick seams. Sessions are always performed fully clothed.
What should I expect during treatment?
Your practitioner will make gentle contact with your pelvis/tailbone and cranial access points, guiding your body to release blockages and invite flow. You may feel heat, energy movement, emotional shifts, or a deep sense of calm. Others may not feel anything at all—and that’s okay too. The work is still happening.
Sessions are safe for everyone, with no contraindications. Most treatments last between 10 to 25 minutes, depending on the person. Children under 10 typically receive shorter sessions (approx. 15 minutes), while adults with longstanding patterns may benefit from longer sessions (approx. 25 minutes).
What are group Spinal Flow sessions?
Once you’ve completed your initial assessment, you’re welcome to join Group Spinal Flow sessions—a beautiful way to deepen your healing in a shared space.
Benefits of group sessions include:
Greater flexibility and accessibility for your schedule
More affordable care with the same healing impact
Amplified energy in the room = stronger flow
A deeper sense of collective healing and connection
You'll be supported with pelvic blocks, and your practitioner will move between clients, allowing your nervous system to continue responding even when they are not in contact with you. The room is quiet (other than music), and any private feedback is shared discreetly.
What should I do between sessions?
Healing isn’t always linear. Your body may need time and support as it unwinds deeply held stress.
Here’s how to care for yourself between visits:
Hydrate well
Eat nourishing foods
Go for daily walks to help your body integrate new postural patterns
Journal any thoughts, feelings, or memories that arise—your body is communicating with you
Why Spinal Flow?
Because it works with your body—not against it.
Benefits may include:
Reduced pain from old or recent injuries
Improved digestion and elimination
Calmer nervous system and reduced anxiety
Emotional release and healing
Reconnection to your sense of self
Restored vitality and energy flow
